Saw X has been a hit at the box office and one of the most well-received installments in the entire Saw franchise. Now it looks like Lionsgate is prepared to deliver Saw XI as soon as next year.
Saw X, the tenth film in the series, took place during the time between Saw and Saw II. This allowed the filmmakers to once again tell a story centered around Tobin Bell’s John Kramer. This story was so well-received, however, and left an open enough ending, that it’s clear a sequel was inevitable.
For fans of this particular franchise, however, immediate sequels are a part of its DNA. Its first seven installments were released each subsequent year from 2004 to 2010.
The announcement of Saw XI was made on the franchise’s official Instagram account. “The game continues,” the caption for their post reads, “9.27.24”.

Plot details for the new film are being kept under wraps at this time. As mentioned, however, the most recent installment was centered on Tobin Bell’s John Kramer. It’s likely that he’ll return once again, with Synnøve Macody Lund’s Dr. Cecilia Pederson once against serving as his nemesis.
Additionally, the post-credits scene for the film teased the return of Costas Mandylor’s Mark Hoffman. It’s possible that he’ll have a larger role to play in a sequel, similar to Shawnee Smith’s return as Amanda in Saw X. He served as John Kramer’s successor from Saw IV to Saw 3D, though in this era he would still be serving under John.
Fans will be able to see Saw XI on September 27, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Saw XI and the rest of the Saw film franchise as we have them. For now, this is an exciting announcement, especially given the success of Saw X.
