The Marvel Cinematic Universe is becoming increasingly tied with Fox’s X-Men movie franchise. Now rumors are spreading that one of the stars of the X-Men films could appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.
This isn’t exactly a far-fetched possibility. After all, The Marvels recently featured (spoilers if you haven’t seen the film) a character from the X-Men films in its post-credits scene. We’re also getting Deadpool 3 in 2024 which is expected to directly set up the events for Avengers: Secret Wars.
Of course, many details regarding how exactly that will work are unknown. In fact, we’ve seen varying explanations for the Multiverse in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Loki.
Speaking of which, this particular actor already reprised his X-Men role for the Doctor Strange sequel. While he appears to have been some kind of variant, it does leave the doorway open that Patrick Stewart could do it again for Avengers: Secret Wars. And, while speaking with Etalk, he confirms the possibility is there.
Here’s what Stewart shared regarding his character:
“I cannot put it to rest because it’s not a fact either for or against,” Stewart answered. “It is a possibility. Hugh Jackman and I looked upon Logan as being our farewell, given that I died in that film. Although, I’ve been told I actually died several times already.”
It’s certainly a good point. After all, fans thought Logan would be his last outing as Charles Xavier. The same can also be said for actor Hugh Jackman, who will once again be reprising his Wolverine role for Deadpool 3. It’s very possible that all of these X-Men characters could be united for Avengers: Secret Wars.
As such, we’ll have to see how these MCU movies come together for the future. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them. Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 7, 2027.
