One of the difficulties with streaming services is that they often remove content without warning. It can be as simple as licensing issues or a studio licensing a title to another service. For this particular Marvel series, however, Disney Plus didn’t give any explanation for its removal.
The fan-favorite animated series was removed altogether from the service without warning. Of course, Disney Plus is known for pulling content. Especially when curating its service that contains everything from classic Disney films to the latest entries in the Star Wars saga.
Of course, the series didn’t last for long. It was cancelled just after its second season. As such, fans didn’t get to see the series reach its full potential. But there were enough storylines adapted and villains utilized that it’s kept fans coming back again and again. This is why Disney Plus became such a convenient avenue for fans to stream the series.
This particular series, having ran from 2008 to 2009, is none other than The Spectacular Spider-Man. The fan-favorite iteration of the beloved comic book character focused on Peter Parker and his journey with high school. In classic Spider-Man style, he had to juggle both is personal life and his growing career as a superhero.
In fact, Disney Plus still has a variety of other Marvel Spider-Man films and shows on their platform. As such, it doesn’t seem to involve any issues with the character, but rather a licensing issue with this particular series.
