The DCEU was established in large part with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He later returned to finish his own cut of Justice League. Fans hoped he would have the opportunity to return again, but sadly, Zack Snyder has now confirmed that the SnyderVerse is dead.
Fans have been adamant about getting Snyder to return to the DC superhero franchise. Some fans felt as though Snyder would be able to convince Netflix to purchase the rights to the SnyderVerse altogether. This would allow him to complete a series of Justice League sequels set within his own unique universe.
While it seems unlikely that Netflix would be able to make such a deal with Warner Bros, especially when they have their own streaming service, it wasn’t without reason. Snyder has built a solid partnership with Netflix and has so far directed both Army of the Dead and the upcoming film Rebel Moon. He’s also been involved with follow-up projects to both.
As revealed on a social media post on Vero, however, Zack Snyder confirms that the SnyderVerse is dead. You can see so below in a post where someone shared a video regarding the death of the so-called shared universe. Snyder simply responded to the video with the following confirmation:
“That’s true.”

It’s no doubt a disappointing moment for fans hoping Zack Snyder would return to DC. Especially when they were successful in getting Zack Snyder’s Justice League off the ground. However, it looks like WB is focused on moving on with the DCU, and Snyder is focused on his career with Netflix.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any potential updates as we have them. For now, however, fans can look forward to Snyder’s upcoming film Rebel Moon and its sequels when they all premiere via Netflix.
