Deborah Reed, a wonderful actress with a memorable role as the “Goblin Queen” in 1990’s cult film Troll 2, has passed away after a cancer battle. She’s said to have “passed away peacefully at home on November 18th, 2023” in addition to being “surrounded by her loving children.”
A statement regarding her death was shared on her official Facebook profile. She’s said to have been “diagnosed with CLL” in 2017, and that it “later evolved into Richter’s Syndrome, and passed away due to complications of cancer.”
“She had true grit until the end,” the statement continues, “while remaining her sweet optimistic self through the entire experience.”
As mentioned, Deborah Reed is known for her performance as the main antagonist in Troll 2. The 1990 horror film is one of very few film credits that Reed has to offer, but as a quote accredited to her goes:
“If I couldn’t be in the best movie, I sure am glad I was in the worst!”
Creedence Leonore Gielgud is her character’s proper name, and it’s perhaps the most over-the-top performance in a movie filled to the brim with quirky characters and oddball cast members. Reed truly gives her role everything she has, however, and dedicated film fans have loved her ever since.
The statement shared on Facebook thanks her many fans, family, and friends that have supported her throughout her life:
“We are grateful to all of you who loved Deborah in her life and shared in her humor and creative journey here. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.”
