The 1976 horror classic The Omen is getting a brand-new prequel from 20th Century Studios. The new film, titled The First Omen, is set to be released in theaters in 2024. Additionally, the first look at film has been released which you can see below.
As shared via Deadline, the prequel begins when “a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church. She encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.”

Arkasha Stevenson directed the film which was penned by Tim Smith & Arkasha Stevenson and Keith Thomas. The story was penned by Ben Jacoby. David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are producers while Tim Smith, Whitney Brown, and Gracie Wheelan act as executive producers.
The cast of The First Omen includes Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sonia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy.
The Omen, released in 1976, spawned a franchise with several additional films and a short-lived television series. The first sequel, Damien: Omen II, was released in 1978. This was followed by Omen III: The Final Conflict in 1981, and Omen IV: The Awakening in 1991. A remake was released in 2006 while the television series Damien acted as a direct sequel to the original film. It lasted for just one season in 2016. There was one other attempt to bring the horror franchise to television, in 1995, when a TV pilot titled The Omen aired. It was not picked up.
