The Terrifier movies have quickly turned Art the Clown into a full-blown horror icon. Now the third film in the franchise, Terrifier 3, is set to move Art from Halloween to an entirely different holiday. Fans can see this for themselves in the newly-released teaser trailer for Terrifier 3.
The footage initially debuted exclusively in movie theaters for those who viewed the re-release of Terrifier 2. Excitingly enough, however, the footage is now online. As you can see below, Art the Clown is making his way to Christmas, for a new film that sees him dressed like Santa Claus himself.
Of course, just because he’s dressed like Santa, that doesn’t make him any less violent. In fact, it looks like Art could very well be going on his bloodiest rampage yet.
Here’s the teaser trailer for Terrifier 3 which once again stars David Howard Thornton as Art:
Most plot details at this time are scarce, though the logline for the flick teases that “Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.”
Hopefully this footage is enough to hold fans over until the next film hits theaters. Though fans will no doubt be happy to watch the first two installments of the series again. In fact, Terrifier 2 recently had quite the success at the box office, having earned as much as $11 million at the domestic box office.
If the box office success of the films and the newly-released teaser trailer for the third film are any indication, then the Terrifier film franchise is clearly here to stay. Art the Clown has made himself an icon of horror and while he still has some time to get on the level of Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees, he’s clearly headed in the right direction.
Fans will be able to see Terrifier 3 in theaters next year on October 25, 2024.
