The Terrifier movies have quickly become one of the biggest modern horror franchises. Now the franchise’s iconic antagonist, Art the Clown, is set to return for Terrifier 3 as soon as October 2024. And, better yet, this film will be set on an entirely different holiday than Halloween.
The theatrical re-release of Terrifier 2 included a teaser for Terrifier 3. This teaser confirmed that in place of Halloween, the new sequel will be set on Christmas! Furthermore, the film will be available to see in theaters on October 25, 2024.
Damien Leone, writer and director of the Terrifier films, had the following statement to share:
“Terrifier 2‘s remarkable success was driven not only by the insatiable appetite for new and thrilling horror icons like Art the Clown but also by its unparalleled theatrical release and marketing, along with its unyielding spirit. In a cinematic landscape where risk-taking is scarce, I will continue to push boundaries in Terrifier 3, and I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store for Art the Clown.”
Additionally, Brad Miska, Managing Director of Bloody-Disgusting, added the following:
“In the world of horror, Damien Leone’s Terrifier franchise stands as a defiant embodiment of anti-Hollywood ethos,” Miska begins. “With an unwavering commitment to delivering precisely what the fans desire, Leone has crafted an entirely independent sequel. Terrifier 3 is going to have nastier kills, a bigger budget and an even crazier storyline.”
The Terrifier films have struck a chord with horror fans, especially those who love the slasher genre. Terrifier and its sequel have tapped into an era of horror which once focused on memorable antagonists, violent kills, and lots of atmosphere. It’s clear that Terrifier 3, then, will only up the ante. Especially by placing Art the Clown in a completely different holiday setting. We should have more news on the sequel soon as we approach its October 2024 release date.
