There are many reasons why John Carpenter’s Halloween franchise has become so iconic over the years. One such reason is that the movie has several memorable locations, including the house owned by Jamie Lee Curtis’ character Laurie Strode. Now her house from Halloween has officially sold after hitting the market last month.
As noted via TMZ, the South Pasadena, CA house “has officially sold for $1.68 million.” This price is a little less than what it originally hit the market for – $1.8 million. As such, it’s a killer sale for everyone involved.
For those unfamiliar with the setup of the iconic house, the publication describes it as follows:
“The first unit is a large 1-bedroom suite with a large porch, the second has 3 beds and 1 bath, and the third is a 1-bed, 1-bath.”
Of course, this would allow for a great rental property. Otherwise, there are certainly possibilities to attract fans of the Halloween film franchise. Especially if they could create something like a Halloween-themed Airbnb. But it’s likely that the new owners will have more traditional plans for the property.
The sale comes at a very interesting time. Not only is it mere days before Halloween 2023 is upon us, but it was recently announced that there a big plans in motion for the Halloween franchise. Miramax, the co-owners for the film rights of the property, recently acquired co-ownership of the franchise’s television rights. This means that a Halloween TV series is imminent. And while plans for the series are unknown at this time, it’s likely that Michael Myers will somehow be made part of it. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the Halloween franchise and Michael Myers as we have them. For now, it’s nice to see that the house which once belonged to Jamie Lee Curtis’ beloved final girl in Halloween is being taken care of.
