The Halloween movie franchise currently sits at a whopping thirteen movies. At this point, it’s clear that Michael Myers will never truly be gone. At one point, however, it seemed that way – until the sequel Halloween 4 gave us The Return of Michael Myers.
This particular subtitle is quite meaningful. It not only emphasizes that Michael is back after having supposedly died in Halloween II, but it’s a return for the character after Halloween III: Season of the Witch took a wildly different direction.
As such, fans were treated to a wonderful return, one that remains a fan-favorite sequel for many. And, with Halloween coming up, many fans have been revisiting the fourth entry in the long-running slasher series. One such reason for that, in addition to being a grand return for Michael Myers, is that it’s a wonderfully Autumn-feeling movie.
Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, have discussed as much as they revisit the film on streaming platforms like Shudder. Though the movie is far from perfect, many horror fans have pleasant memories of Halloween 4, especially as so many viewers watched it as one of their first horror movies.
Here are the tweets being shared by fans on X:
Over 30 years and still not a horror film with opening credits that top the Fall feeling of Halloween 4 pic.twitter.com/L7fPIpELxc

i still think they shouldve kept Halloween 4’s ending as is if they wanted to do an “evil never dies” angle bc the innocent little girl pursued by evil becoming that very evil and the cut to black was so good pic.twitter.com/L1fTkJ7vKz

Just paying my respects to blonde haired, pink faced Michael Myers from that one brief moment in Halloween 4 pic.twitter.com/8OdowYvpaH

Favorite child performance in movies?
My pick: the producers of “Halloween 4” struck gold with Danielle Harris. She really sells the terror her character is enduring, instantly making her sympathetic and giving the audience reason to be invested in the film. https://t.co/EOk7jmVGBP pic.twitter.com/lhIjsnxA8G

Halloween 4 is trending and I love it so gd much. The opening Smith’s Grove scene, the amazing atmosphere, Rachel & Jamie, Kelly M, the best scenes of trick or treating, Loomis on point, RUTHLESS Myers, and scariest ending. My God what a movie!!!! pic.twitter.com/TVJoiqc08G

Michael’s creepy bandaged look in Halloween 4 is super underrated pic.twitter.com/n3cNjc3XhX

Maybe it’s the nostalgia, but Halloween 4 is one of my favorite movies to watch in October. It’s wild to think Jamie almost became The Shape. It would’ve been awesome seeing a different person behind the mask. Instead that idea was scrapped and the crazy cult plot happend. pic.twitter.com/25MnOnLfrA

HALLOWEEN 4 slaps – tight budget, a script written in nine days (before the 88 strike), good cinematography and fun pacing. It doesn’t need to be perfect to be a good time! pic.twitter.com/029znPODql

As mentioned, it’s a fan-favorite Halloween sequel for a reason, and these tweets make that explicitly clear. Though the franchise has come a long way from this fourth entry, with even the fifth movie being quite the departure, Halloween 4 is a wonderful sequel that stands quite well on its own. Fans still coming back to it all these decades later is proof of that.
