Subscribers are often digging through Netflix in the hopes of uncovering something worthwhile. After all, while the streaming platform boasts a variety of new and popular titles, including the likes of Stranger Things, it’s sometimes worth revisiting what might be forgotten. This seems to be the case with a hated 2011 sci-fi movie which has now found itself with a #3 spot on Netflix as of this writing.
As shared via FlixPatrol, this sci-fi film has quickly become one of the most-watched films on Netflix. Interestingly, there appears to be a reason that the sci-fi film – which starred Justin Timberlake – has gone viral. As you can see below, TikTok users are sharing scenes from the movie In Time on their social media accounts.
Here’s one such example of the film being shared on TikTok:

It appears that these users have helped prompt others into seeing the film on Netflix. And, as a result of the movie’s newfound popularity, the numbers have only skyrocketed until the movie went as far as #3 on the streaming service. Quite impressive for a film that wasn’t exactly positive received in 2011.
In fact, according to its Rotten Tomatoes score, the Justin Timberlake movie has a 37% on the Tomatometer. The score does appear to be a bit higher for audiences, however, with the audience score being a somewhat higher 51%. Of course, that’s far from fresh, but it’s clear that the film does have some merit for viewers.
Andrew Niccol both wrote and directed the film. It managed to earn $174 million against a $40 million budget.
In addition to Justin Timberlake, the cast of the film includes Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Olivia Wilde, Matt Bomer, Johnny Galecki, and Alex Pettyfer.
