The Marvel Cinematic Universe has faced more than a few issues in recent years. Now the MCU is now being impacted by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. It’s been revealed that the strikes have prompted the latest of multiple delays for an upcoming MCU series.
The Disney Plus series Echo is set to revolve around the titular character first introduced in Hawkeye. Unfortunately, the series was initially scheduled to be released in 2023, but that release date has shifted several times. The original mid-2023 release date was shifted to late 2023, and now a report via THR has been confirmed, revealing that the series won’t be released until 2024.
As noted below, “Disney’s official press asset folder confirms the THR exclusive that ‘ECHO‘ is debuting in January 2024.”
Not that anyone had any doubt, but Disney’s official press asset folder confirms the THR exclusive that ‘ECHO’ is debuting in January 2024.
Still no other images except the one of Alaqua Cox, released last year, and no date given in January for its debut.

The tweet adds that the only image shared for the series is one from 2022, featuring star Alaqua Cox, and that there is no specific release date given beyond January. As such, assuming it is released in January, it’s unknown when exactly in the month it could drop. In fact, some sources suggested that the series would be released in its entirety as opposed to the traditional weekly schedule given to MCU shows.
It’s not completely known why Echo has faced so many delays, though rumors suggest that the MCU series has faced a rather troubled production. Hopefully we’ll have more details once the series is actually released. In the meantime, we’ll have to hope that the quality of the series is better than these delays are making it out to be.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them. For now, fans should expect Echo to be released via Disney Plus at some point in January 2024. Fans can see Alaqua Cox’s character make her first appearance in the MCU series Hawkeye, currently available on Disney Plus.
