The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to bring back Kang the Conqueror in Loki Season 2. Of course, Kang actor Jonathan Majors has been the subject of controversy after he was arrested for charges of domestic violence. Now with his ongoing assault case, a producer for Loki has teased the “big” return Jonathan Majors will make to the MCU.
Loki Season 2 executive producer Kevin Wright discussed Jonathan Majors while speaking with Entertainment Weekly. Initially, he spoke about Victor Timely, a variant of Kang that fans will get to experience in the upcoming second season of the show.
“Victor Timely is somebody that we are very, very excited about,” shares Wright. “When you look at Kang, he has a very funny comic backstory. He has all these iterations.”
Wright adds how “big” of a part Jonathan Majors will play in the series overall:
“Timely was one of that we’ve always wanted to do in ‘Loki.’ And I think we’re really excited about how that integrates into the season. It’s a big part of the show.”
Of course, it’s unknown how exactly Marvel plans to utilize Jonathan Majors beyond the release of Loki Season 2. His scenes for the Disney Plus series were already shot prior to his arrest. With the outcome of his assault case, however, fans will know whether or not Jonathan Majors will continue to reprise his role for the rest of the MCU going forward.
The cast of Loki Season 2 will once again feature Tom Hiddleston as the titular character. The cast also includes Kate Dickie, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, and Rafael Casal.
Fans will be able to view the premiere of Loki Season 2 via Disney Plus on October 6, 2023. The first season is currently available to stream in full. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Marvel Cinematic Universe updates as we have them.
