Amber Heard faced a number of controversies during the production of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom AKA Aquaman 2. Many of these issues revolved around her lawsuit with her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp. Now an alleged batch of unsealed courtroom documents suggest that Jason Momoa would dress up like Johnny Depp to torment Amber Heard.
The documents were shared via Reddit, where they were noted to be notes from Heard’s therapist, Dr. Dawn Hughes. As the Reddit user who posted them explained, they “reveal James Wan and Jason Momoa blamed Amber Heard for increasing harassment and eventually wanted her fired.” It was after this that “Momoa used to come to set dressed like Johnny Depp.”

It’s certainly a surprising revelation and one that suggests there’s so much more behind-the-scenes regarding both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp than what was revealed at the trial. It’s also interesting when considering that Amber Heard was always said to be an intended part of Aquaman 2. After all, it must’ve been difficult if Jason Momoa and James Wan both wanted her fired. Especially if Momoa could’ve then been dressing like Johnny Depp in response to her staying onboard.
The new sequel was directed by James Wan from a screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. He co-wrote the first Aquaman movie alongside Will Beall and James Wan.
In addition to Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Amber Heard as Mera, the cast of the film includes Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.
Fans will be able to see what’s said to be the final DCEU film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, when it hits theaters on December 20, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding DC, Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, or Johnny Depp as we have them.
