The Netflix series Stranger Things is well-known for its 1980s setting. Now, however, the franchise will be reaching into the 1950s for a brand-new stage show. The exciting cast of the stage show prequel to Stranger Things has been shared below.
As noted via THR, the prequel titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow, is “set in 1959.” The logline continues to reveal the plot of the series which promises a very exciting time in the lives of many fans’ favorite characters:
“Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy … and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.”

Previews for the show will begin on November 17 at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End, and this will be followed by an opening date on December 14. Rehearsals are currently underway, written by Kate Telfry and directed by Stephen Daldry with co-director Justin Martin.
The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers, shared the following statement:
