The Percy Jackson novels are being adapted once again for an all-new live-action series on Disney Plus. Now the first trailer for the Disney Plus series based on the iconic Percy Jackson series has been released.
As you can see below, the teaser confirms that the series will adhere to the storylines from the books, in which it “tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.”

It’s certainly an exciting teaser and hopefully we’ll have more footage from the series soon. For now, though, this should definitely put fans at ease that are anxious for another adaptation of the classic books. Fortunately, the premiere of the series is only a few months away.
Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan co-wrote the pilot of the series with Jon Steinberg. James Bobin directed the pilot. They all serve as executive producers in addition to Dan Shotz, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldbeg, and Riordan’s wife, Rebecca Riordan.
The cast of the series includes Walker Scobell as the titular character, with Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. The cast additionally includes Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy. Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, Olivea Morton, Jay Duplass, Lance Reddick, and Timothy Omundson also star.
