Stephen King has gifted audiences with a wide range of fan-favorite stories, including more than a few horror classics over the years. He’s also played a great part in promoting such projects. Now a tweet from Stephen King showing high praise for a horror series on Netflix has resurfaced.
Netflix subscribers likely already know who Mike Flanagan is. He’s created some of the biggest shows on the platform, including the upcoming series The Fall of the House of Usher. Of course, fans are now looking back on his work, which includes the series Midnight Mass. Now this has led fans to discover a tweet from Stephen King where he had nothing but great things to say about Midnight Mass.
Here’s the tweet that Stephen King shared regarding the Netflix series:
“MIDNIGHT MASS, on Netflix,” he begins, “Mike Flanagan has created a dense, beautifully photographed terror tale that climbs to a high pitch of horror by the 7th and last episode. I believe it starts in 10 days.”

Of course, this might not be too surprising. After all, Midnight Mass seems particularly inspired by the works of King, notably ‘Salem’s Lot. The two also seem to be quite likeminded as Flanagan also adapted several King stories throughout his career. This includes the adaptations for Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game. There’s also the possibility of an adaptation of The Dark Tower on the way from Flanagan as well.
As such, it’s wholesome to see King supportive of Flanagan’s past work, and one has to wonder what he’ll think about The Fall of the House of Usher. Especially since that particular series will adapt the works of another legendary horror author – Edgar Allan Poe. In the meantime, now is a perfect time to revisit Mike Flanagan’s Midnight Mass on Netflix.
