Marvel fans have eagerly awaited the return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again. Unfortunately, fans hoping to see the MCU superhero return in Spring 2024 have received disappointing news.
As shared via THR, the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have resulted in quite the shakeup at Marvel Studios. It looks like Disney is performing a balancing act as it delays different projects, forcing the entirety of the MCU to be shifted and delayed as a result. This now includes Daredevil: Born Again which won’t be making its original release date.
Here’s what they shared about the series which is a successor to Netflix’s highly-acclaimed Daredevil series:
“Daredevil: Born Again, a continuation of the Netflix series in the MCU, was expected to debut in spring 2024, paused in mid-production amid the strikes.”
Indeed, the series had only partially gotten in front of cameras before production had to be paused. As such, it’s unknown how much of the show was completed, but it’s obviously not enough to determine a new release date. Hopefully the sooner the strikes can be resolved, the sooner we’ll know when to expect Daredevil: Born Again to hit Disney Plus.
It’s possible that it won’t be ready until late 2024 or early 2025 at the earliest, however, which means fans will have quite awhile to wait. For now, audiences have already been teased with the return of Charlie Cox’s character in both Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Disney Plus series She-Hulk.
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Sandrine Holt will appear as Vanessa Fisk. Other cast members include Nikki M. James, Michael Gandolfini, Michael Gaston, Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Daredevil: Born Again news and other MCU updates as we have them. The other Marvel shows that have been delayed indefinitely include Ironheart and Wonder Man.
