Fans were quite divided when it was announced that Superman: Legacy would introduce a new Superman for a new franchise. This meant that Henry Cavill‘s Superman would no longer be making any further appearances. David Corenswet, the actor taking on the Superman role from Cavill, received some backlash for this; though fans are now changing their minds based on his physique.
Superman: Legacy isn’t expected to hit theaters until 2025. Nevertheless, production is being prepped, and now actor David Corenswet can be seen with his brand-new muscular build as he prepares to tackle the rather important superhero role.
The new physique was spotted in photos featuring Corenswet as he worked as a cinematographer for an upcoming documentary about the work of artist Jon Schueler. It’s an unexpected place to catch a glimpse of our future Superman – but fans on social media are excited to have had it.
Here are some of their reactions on social media to Superman: Legacy star David Corenswet and his newfound physique:

Of course, as mentioned, there’s still some time before the film hits theaters. This should give Corenswet even more time to build up his muscular look at become the best possible example of the “Man of Steel” as we can expect. For fans that have mixed feelings about a new Superman reboot, it certainly looks like Corenswet is doing his best to give the role his all.
Superman: Legacy is set to be written and directed by James Gunn. The film will hit theaters on July 11, 2025, kicking off the rest of the DC Universe as a result. We’ll likely see more when production starts in 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding David Corenswet as we have them. For now, he’s certainly doing his best to look the part and deliver a great take on the iconic superhero for fans.
