As fans look forward to Deadpool 3, which recently had production put on hiatus due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, all-new rumors are coming to light. This includes a report that beloved singer Taylor Swift will appear in Deadpool 3. And the X-Men Marvel character that she’s reported to play is one that’s perfect for her.
As shared via DisInsider, Taylor Swift is only one of quite a few celebrities alleged to be part of Deadpool 3. Some of these line up with previous reports, and seem quite likely, while others are a little more far-fetched. As such, fans should take the report regarding Swift with a grain of salt. But it would make plenty of sense considering which Marvel character she’s said to play: Dazzler.
Fans of the X-Men comics know that Dazzler turns sound vibrations into light and energy beams. Naturally, she also leads a life as a rather successful pop singer. It seems like Taylor Swift would be a perfect fit for the role, then, especially with the popularity she’s been seeing with her ongoing Eras Tour. Of course, we’ll have to see if there’s any merit to these reports. The character was first (and last) played in live-action by Halston Sage in the movie Dark Phoenix.
Deadpool 3 is expected to introduce plenty of X-Men and MCU characters that will help connect the two brands going forward. As such, numerous rumors regarding the film’s production are spreading, and it’s unclear which will turn out to be true. But Taylor Swift fans would no doubt love to see her become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially with a role as perfect as Dazzler.
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux previously worked on the film’s screenplay.
The upcoming film stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna, in addition to returning cast members Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic and Rob Delaney. Newcomers include Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
Deadpool 3 was previously scheduled to hit theaters for a May 3, 2024 release date. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated blockbuster and Taylor Swift as we have them.
