Production on Daredevil: Born Again has currently paused due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. For now, however, a new rumor has surfaced which suggests a very unexpected Marvel villain could appear in Daredevil: Born Again. And it’s one that fans would no doubt love to see in the series.
The upcoming Disney Plus series is set to consist of eighteen episodes. Now, as shared via insider Daniel Richtman, one of those Daredevil: Born Again episodes could introduce the comic book villain Muse. Fans will recognize this character from having appeared in the 2016 Daredevil run from Charles Soule and Ron Garney.
Muse is certainly a big change from other villains set to appear, namely Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin. Specifically because Muse is known serial killer. His role in the comics included using his victims’ blood and viscera to create displays of “art.” Many other details about the character are kept scarce. This includes the character’s name and origins.
Obviously this would be a very dark direction for the series to take. Especially because some have expected Born Again to be much lighter in tone when compared to its Netflix predecessor. This could also mean that the MCU might take some major creative liberties with reinventing Muse for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On that note, these are all rumors, so it should still be taken with a grain of salt.
Eighteen episodes is plenty of time to introduce new villains, however, so it’s likely we’ll be getting some new faces one way or another. In fact, it’s also been rumored that the eighteen episodes could be split into two nine-episode parts, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Sandrine Holt will appear as Vanessa Fisk.
