Many DC fans were heartbroken when it was announced that the film Batgirl was completely cancelled. Audiences were excited to not only see the titular DC superhero get her own movie, but it would also bring back Michael Keaton as Batman. Now the plot for Batgirl appears to have surfaced online in a series of social media leaks.
One Twitter user, @NebsGoodTakes, has taken the time to compile various different pieces of the Batgirl plot that have leaked online. This has allowed them to stitch everything together in a way that explains the film in a linear structure. As such, this is our biggest idea yet as to what the film could have been like.
As noted below:

The user continues to describe the film’s opening which would have followed a young Barbara Gordon in ballet. She’s soon captivated by a nearby martial arts class, however, and makes her new best friends: Jason Bard and Alysia Yeoh. It also gives her the opportunity to learn some fighting moves that assist in taking down a young bully.
It’s not long after that she goes on patrol with her father, J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon, who ends up receiving help from Batman. It’s Batman’s act of justice that inspires Barbara to follow in his footsteps. Eventually, then, the Ted Carson version of Firefly would be introduced as the film’s villain.
After explaining more details regarding the plot, the user also lists some highlights. The most important of which notes that the film “took place in the new timeline that the Flash movie’s original ending set up, with Batkeaton replacing Batfleck and Supergirl being alive.”
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional DC updates as we have them. This, of course, includes any potential updates regarding Batgirl. Although the film was cancelled, there’s still no telling what the future could hold for the unfinished superhero movie.
