The classic PlayStation game series Twisted Metal is being reimagined for live-action. Now, as you can see below, Peacock‘s full official trailer for Twisted Metal has been officially released online. The new “high-octane action comedy” looks like a great treat for fans of the game franchise.
The footage below promises a post-apocalyptic setting, vehicle chases, and plenty of gore. It looks like a proper translation of everything that fans love from the video games. Especially with cast members like Anthony Mackie, Neve Campbell, and Thomas Haden Church thrown into the mix.
Here’s the official trailer for Twisted Metal:
Twisted Metal follows “a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
Fortunately, the series isn’t too far away. Fans will be able to view the series via Peacock as soon as later this month. Thus it’s unlikely we’ll see much more footage than this before it’s released. But at this rate, fans are likely already sold on the adaptation.
The series is written by Michael Jonathan Smith based on a take by Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
In addition to Anthony Mackie, the cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church.
