The Walking Dead may be over but the franchise is far from finished. In fact, there are numerous spin-offs both airing and on the way, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The new series will revolve around the titular character played by Norman Reedus. Now the first teaser for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been released.
The footage features Daryl as he apparently ends up being kidnapped by a group of seemingly evil nuns. And, appropriately enough, the clip itself is titled “The Abbey.” This certainly suggests an interesting change of pace for this particular iteration of the franchise. And fans are no doubt eager to have more Daryl content by now.
Here’s the official teaser for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon:
The setup for the series is described as follows:
“The upcoming spinoff series tracks Daryl Dixon’s (Norman Reedus) journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”
David Zabel will serve as showrunner on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Furthermore, The Walking Dead executive producer and director Greg Nicotero will also be involved with the new spin-off series. The series is also executive produced by David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Norman Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, and Daniel Percival.
In addition to Norman Reedus, the announced cast for the series also includes Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.
Fans will be able to see the new series when it premieres in Fall 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated The Walking Dead spin-off as we have them.
