Of course, this is still a rumor, and so fans should take it with a grain of salt. But we do know that Deadpool 3 will involve the Multiverse as part of its storyline. And, considering that we’ll be seeing a variant of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the film, anything seems to be possible. And who knows? Perhaps this could open the door for a proper Gambit adaptation in the future under the MCU. As always, we’ll just have to see what happens. For now, if this does come to pass, it looks like Gambit will only be appearing within a cameo.
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux previously worked on the film’s screenplay.
The upcoming film stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna, in addition to returning cast members Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic and Rob Delaney. Newcomers include Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated blockbuster as we have them. At this rate, it looks like we’ll be in for some interesting surprises.
