Sony has plenty of live-action Spider-Man projects in the works in addition to their animated hits like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As such, plenty of Marvel comic book characters are being introduced for the first time in live-action, and that includes reports that Spider-Woman will get her first live-action outing. In fact, rumors suggest that Ana de Armas will be playing Spider-Woman, and now a new image imagines her as the character.
Ana de Armas has become quite a major celebrity in the last few years. With appearances that include Blade Runner 2049, Knives Out, and Netflix’s Blonde, she would certainly be an incredible choice to play Spider-Woman. And if her credits don’t convince you, then the below image likely will.
The image below, as shared via the GFR Instagram page, is said to have been created using AI. As such, it’s not completely accurate to the comic book iteration of the character, but rather the more popular live-action Spider-Man outfits. The colors of her suit are thus red and black, rather than red and gold, and the web pattern likewise matches Spider-Man’s. It’s an interesting look and shows that there’s nothing wrong with a few creative embellishments.
Here’s the image of Ana de Armas as Spider-Woman:

It’s worth noting that Sony is already introducing one iteration of Spider-Woman, that of Julia Carpenter, in the upcoming film Madame Web. This version of the character is said to be played by Sydney Sweeney. As for Ana de Armas, she would potentially play Jessica Drew, another character to have used the Spider-Woman moniker. Thus we’ll have to wait and see what plans Sony has up their sleeves. But they certainly aren’t afraid to use these different versions of characters – so perhaps there is some truth to these rumors.
