Fans have been eagerly awaiting for the sequel to 2020’s Extraction. Now that the movie is available to stream on Netflix, however, it looks like some Extraction 2 viewers are taking issue with the film.
Of course, most fans are glad to see Chris Hemsworth back as the sequel’s lead. Likewise, there are plenty of positive reactions, all of which have convinced Netflix to greenlight a third outing. So what exactly is the negative element that has so many Extraction 2 viewers triggered?
It turns out that one big issue fans are being upset by the inclusion of Sandro, a new character played by Andro Japaridze. The character is a teenager that Hemsworth’s character is sent to rescue. Unfortunately, viewers feel that Sandro is both an “annoying character” and completely “unwatchable” as a result. Others aren’t as specific as to why they disliked the movie.
Here are some of the reactions that the character Sandro has provoked on social media:
The only annoying part of Extraction 2 was this guy not getting a single scratch while his family either got shot or beat up. 😡 pic.twitter.com/MQn25oy8Ck

I hate stupid kids in movies especially serious scenes, like this Sandro guy in Extraction 2

I’m still wondering why it was only foolish Sandro that was unhurt in the whole of Extraction 2. Even the poor baby girl collected fracture and she was very cooperative

Sandro in Extraction 2 made me shout at a movie character for the first time in a while.

Extraction 2 is a terrible movie! The script was absolute trash. There was virtually no storyline. Nothing in that movie made sense. The action was ok but the whole movie was garbage. #Extraction2 #Dogshit

Extraction 2 is woke political garbage. I’m so sick of having them shove their stupidity down everybody’s throats. I watched a few minutes and it was so so so so bad I turned it off, canceled my subscription, and deleted the app.

As mentioned, though, fans are otherwise pleased by the sequel. So we’ll have to wait and see if the third outing will fix these criticisms or once again include a character that viewers end up hating. It seems that Sandro’s inability to be hurt, courtesy of plot armor, is something that the writers will have to pay close attention to when writing the next sequel. Especially when so many other characters around him are being injured all of the time.
The newly-released film Extraction 2 is directed by Sam Hargrave from a screenplay written by Joe Russo. The story was written by Joe Russo alongside his brother Anthony Russo.
The cast for the film is once again be led by Chris Hemsworth. He reprises his role as Tyler Rake, a black ops mercenary who formerly worked as a SASR operator. Golshifteh Farahani also reprises her role from the original film. They’re joined by Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili.
Fans can now see the new movie Extraction 2 via Netflix. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on other upcoming Netflix projects as we have them.
