Marvel fans have been waiting years for Charlie Cox’s Daredevil to make a comeback. They were delighted to know that it would officially happen as the new Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again. Sadly, it looks like production on Daredevil: Born Again has now been delayed as a result of the writers strike.
This was confirmed via Deadline, where they note it was “supposed to shoot at its New York home base of Silvercup East, which has been a main picketing location for striking WGA members.” Obviously this picketing had an impact on the show’s production schedule.
It’s been stated that the series “is three months into an eight-month shoot on an 18-episode new season for Disney+.” As such, there’s still plenty of material left to shoot. It’s unknown when production for Daredevil: Born Again could start back up again as it will likely require the strike to end. And, for now, there is no end in sight for the strike.
Hopefully we’ll have more details soon. There have already been numerous other delays to upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects as a result of the strike. And, of course, plenty of other film and television productions have been effected as well. It’s certainly a rough time for everyone involved and we’ll have to hope that writers and studios can come to an agreement sooner rather than later.
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Sandrine Holt will appear as Vanessa Fisk.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates regarding Daredevil: Born Again as we have them. The first season of the upcoming Disney Plus series will consist of eighteen episodes which are currently scheduled to premiere next year in 2024. Of course, due to the production delay, it’s possible that Daredevil: Born Again could have a release date delay as well.
