The lawsuit between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp left both of their paths unclear. Though Depp has started to make something of a comeback, Heard chose to move to Spain, though it looks like her return to the big screen will be sooner rather than later. It turns out that Amber Heard is attached to appear in a brand-new movie titled In the Fire.
As shared via Deadline, Heard will “appear at the 69th Taormina Film Festival for the world premiere” of the film. Additionally, she’ll “be in Sicily along with the film’s director Conor Allyn and co-star Eduardo Noriego.” In the Fire is scheduled to premiere at the Teatro Antico di Taorina on June 24. The festival itself is scheduled to take place from June 23 to July 1 in Sicily.
The film’s plot is as follows:
“In the Fire is described as a supernatural thriller that stars Heard as a pioneering psychiatrist who sets out to treat a desperate child at a time when psychiatry is not yet a respected science. Set in 1899, the film follows a 38-year-old American psychiatrist as she arrives on a rich farm in Colombia after being called to solve the case of a disturbed child following increasingly insistent accusations that the child is the devil. While the woman tries to psychoanalyze the child, the nefarious events intensify and her ‘cure’ becomes a race to save the little boy from the fury of his fellow citizens, and perhaps, even from himself.”
This project is notable as it will be the first film promoted by Heard since the aforementioned lawsuit. She’s also slated to appear in the upcoming blockbuster Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
