The Spider-Verse is back on the big screen with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The highly-anticipated sequel was first teased with the first Spider-Verse movie’s post-credits scene. As such, one might wonder, does Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse include a post-credits scene?
As mentioned, the first Spider-Verse film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, did include one. The scene introduced Miguel O’Hara and set up the events for the sequel. And, as we know a third film is on the way, it would make sense to include such a scene. Otherwise, we already know it’s coming, so there’s not much sense in setting one up.
It looks like Sony went with the latter train of thought because Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse does not include a post-credits scene. Rather, there’s a quick title card for the next film, which will be titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. As such, fans will have to wait until the release of that particular new film until we know what’s next for fans of Miles Morales and friends. But that certainly gives us a reason to enjoy the present and what’s finally here after waiting since 2018: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. Meanwhile, Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be credited as writers on the project alongside David Callaham. The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg. The film will be executive produced by original Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey as well as Aditya Sood.
The cast for the film includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez and Greta Lee. Issa Rae, Rachel Dratch, Joma Taccone, Shea Whigham, Daniel Kaluuya, and Jason Schwartzman among others.
Fans can now see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Spider-Man movie updates as we have them.
