Disney‘s all-new take on The Little Mermaid has faced controversy all the way to its release. Now, with the film finally in theaters, it looks like there’s a new reason for controversy. Apparently a fight broke out during a screening of The Little Mermaid.
A clip of the fight has since gone viral on social media. As you can see below, a group of adults got into an argument during a screening of the film. This led to the adults standing in front of the theater screen, obscuring the view from moviegoers, and overall ruined the experience.

It’s unknown how long this fight lasted or what exactly started it. One thing is for certain, however, and that’s that no one wants to witness an altercation like this after paying to see a new movie. As one woman during the video states – let’s hope that everyone whose screening was interrupted was able to get a proper refund.
The new film was directed by Rob Marshall with a screenplay written by David Magee with a story penned by Magee alongside Rob Marshall and John DeLuca.
The film’s cast, in addition to Halle Bailey as Ariel, also includes Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina, with Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
