Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey used iconic literary characters that just entered the public domain as full-blown slasher villains. Now their story will continue in Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2.
A sequel to Blood and Honey was announced before the first film had even hit theaters. As such, production on Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is already set to begin in the fall of this year. This means fans won’t have much longer to wait for the sequel.
As noted via THR, while plot details are being kept under wraps, it looks like the sequel will be bigger and better than its predecessor. As shared below:
“Principal photography on the sequel is scheduled for fall, with the plot being kept under wraps. The production is expected to include a substantially larger budget than its predecessor film.”
It’ll be exciting to see what returning writer and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield has up his sleeve for this particular outing. With a larger budget, we can see his gruesome vision on a much bigger scale, and that should be exciting with such iconic characters at his disposal. Of course, as those who’ve seen Blood and Honey know, these are drastically different versions of Pooh and Piglet.
“The slasher franchise film centers on Winnie and his sidekick Piglet. Having turned feral after being abandoned in the wild by their friend Christopher Robin, the two go on a murderous rampage through Hundred Acre Wood.”
ITN Studios is set to handle distribution for the film in North America. The film has already been involved with various international sales deals as well.
