Fans of Futurama were delighted to know that a revival of the hit animated series was announced for the Hulu streaming service. Now the first official teaser trailer for Hulu’s Futurama revival has been released online.
The footage promises the return of everyone’s favorite characters from the series. Additionally, the animation style is incredibly faithful to the original designs, which should put to rest any concerns that this would be drastically different. This is 100% the Futurama that we all know and love.
Here’s the official teaser trailer for the Futurama revival:
The familiar premise of the series is described as follows:
“While delivering pizza on New Year’s Eve 1999, Philip J. Fry is accidentally cryonically frozen and thawed out one thousand years into the future.”
The Futurama franchise has famously survived being cancelled and concluded numerous times. Now the beloved futuristic sci-fi parody will once again be brought back for another run. After being released on both Adult Swim and Comedy Central, in addition to several straight-to-video films, it’ll be exciting to see how Futurama does on Hulu.
Fans will recall that the series most recently ended with Fry and Leela in a world where time stopped moving. This allowed the two characters to finally express their love to one another – until Professor Farnsworth saves the two. It was a fitting ending for many fans of the series. Of course, one can’t help but wonder where the show will go now.
The Futurama revival is set to premiere via Hulu on July 24, 2023. The premiere will include ten episodes that will be released on a weekly basis. Another batch of ten episodes will then be distributed at a later date. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Futurama news and other Hulu updates as we have them. In the meantime, it’s great to see this beloved animated series back in all of its glory.
