Jonathan Majors is scheduled to appear in court for the various charges filed against him recently. The court date is set for May 9. Ahead of that date, however, it looks like Jonathan Majors’ alleged victim has filed a restraining order.
As noted by Variety, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office released the following statement:
“Today a judge granted a Full Temporary Order of Protection for the victim, per the People’s request and with the consent of defense counsel. (At the time of arraignment, a Limited Temporary Order of Protection was granted.),” the statement reads.
This means that neither of the two parties can have any direct or third-party contact. Though, given that the restraining order is only temporary, it will remain in effect until the next court date for Jonathan Majors. The 30-year-old woman who filed the restraining order was said to have been hospitalized with “minor injuries to her head and neck,” as shared via authorities.
Interestingly, Jonathan Majors and his legal team have both insisted his innocence. Though that hasn’t stopped Majors’ public image from being effected. In fact, the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor has already been dropped by both his management company and publicist.
And, while it’s unclear if Disney will be removing him from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there have been reports that discussions are being made. It’s worth noting that Jonathan Majors was set to be an important player for the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. His role as Kang the Conqueror was expected to be the next big bad, not unlike Thanos, and he would have been the focus of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
As such we’ll have to see how this situation continues to turn out. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them. We’ll likely have more details as Majors attends his upcoming date in court.
