Fans have been waiting a long time for their first look at Peacock’s upcoming Twisted Metal live-action series. Now, after revealing the exciting poster, the first official teaser trailer for the series has been unveiled.
The first season of the highly-anticipated adaptation is set to consist of a total of ten episodes. Furthermore, the series features star Anthony Mackie, known for his performances in Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: New World Order, as the lead.
Hopefully we’ll get to see more footage from the series soon. Especially since it’s due to be released this summer. For now, however, this is a great teaser trailer and one can’t help but smile at seeing the iconic video games finally adapted for live-action. With the success of other recent adaptations like The Last of Us, it’s certainly a great time for such adaptations to finally hit the screen. Hopefully Twisted Metal will continue that trend and give us the action-packed series that fans of the franchise deserve.
Fans can see the newly-released trailer for the Twisted Metal series below:
The series is written by Michael Jonathan Smith based on a take by Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
In addition to Anthony Mackie, the cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church.
Twisted Metal follows “a motor-mouthed outsider [who is] offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
Fans will be able to see Twisted Metal premiere via Peacock on July 27, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Twisted Metal updates and Peacock news as we have it. Until then, the newly-released teaser trailer will have to hold over any fans anxious to see the show.
