James Gunn and Peter Safran have been hard at work with creating the DCU. The new shared universe of DC projects will include both live-action and animated projects. Now the voice cast of their first animated project – the television series Creature Commandos – has been revealed.
The cast for the series was shared via Collider. Excitingly enough, they reveal some returning faces and quite a few new ones that should have fans excited. Especially because they have the potential to cross into live-action territory as well.
Here are the Creature Commandos cast members that they’ve announced:
“The series will feature the voice talents of Sean Gunn as Weasel, who will be joined by Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as The Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos.”
The series is set to consist of seven episodes, all of which play a part in the overall DCU. In fact, the first arc for the franchise is titled “Gods and Monsters,” which easily explains why they’re starting off with Creature Commandos. Hopefully we’ll have more details on that front soon.
James Gunn wrote the series and he’s involved with all of the upcoming DCU projects for Warner Bros Discovery. This includes the upcoming film Superman: Legacy which will reintroduce the character as part of the DCU. It’s certainly an exciting time to be a fan and we’ll have to see what other surprises are in store.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional DC updates as we have them. In the meantime, the voice cast for Creature Commandos is very impressive and it’ll be exciting to see everyone in action. A release date for Creature Commandos has yet to be announced.
