A 2016 horror film has suddenly jumped to the top of Amazon Prime. Many viewers are discovering the film for the first time – and the reactions have been incredibly positive. Of course, for a horror movie like this, that means viewers are claiming to be terrified.
One viewer called the film “horrific and disgusting,” before adding that “if it was an English movie it would be regarded as a landmark in horror.” Other users provided similar responses. For example, one user praised the opening minutes of the film, which they claim immediately scared them. Likewise, some viewers were unable to determine where the film’s narrative was headed until the very last moments. “I was on the edge of my seat, didn’t know where it was going till the very end,” one user wrote. A good sign for the film indeed.
It’s always great when a horror film can genuinely surprise and keep viewers on the edge of their seats. As for this 2016 horror film, The Wailing, it seems to have done this exceedingly well. Here are some of the tweets that users have been sharing after watching The Wailing:

The wailing was such a very good movie, even though I was screaming for like 80% of the movie I’m still glad my friends were there to watch it with me throughout. It was actually fucking scary

It’s been QUITE A WHILE since a horror movie has truly scared me. But I just watched The Wailing and I’m scared in my soul lol. The last bit would be so terrifying because ultimately faith and trust are fucking scary. Wow.

The South Korean film was both written and directed by Na Hong-jin.
The cast of the film includes Kwak Do-won, Hwang Jung-min, Chun Woo-hee, and Jun Kunimura.
The Wailing was initially released in South Korea on May 12, 2016. This was later followed by a premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and then in the United States. Although The Wailing has managed to pop up on other streaming services in the past – it looks like Amazon Prime has been the best home for it yet.
