The Simpsons is easily one of the most iconic animated shows ever made. Of course, with the series having been on the air for decades, it’s easy to see why. The simplistic yet memorable designs of Homer Simpson and his family are difficult to forget. Now, however, one fan has used AI to turn characters from The Simpsons into real-life people.
As you can see below, Marc Burrows shared several AI-generated images of Homer and his family from The Simpsons on Twitter. The results are certainly strange. Perhaps some characters were only meant to be animated.
“This is what an AI thinks the Simpsons would look IRL,” Burrows writes. Here are the images:

Naturally, fans are having a diverse set of reactions. Some are outright creeped out by the pictures. Which, given the intense expressions of the characters, it’s probably an appropriate response. “Thanks I hate it,” writes one user:

Other responses include the following tweets, one of which compared the baby Maggie to Pennywise from the IT franchise:

On the other hand, one user took a liking to Homer’s design in particular. They wrote the following tweet to humorously express their openness to Homer’s AI-generated physique.
Not gonna lie Homer could get it 😬

It goes to show just what exactly AI is capable of. In a matter of seconds, fans can see high-quality computer generated images that recreate iconic animated characters as real-life people. It’s a fascinating time for technology and one that will definitely have some divisive reactions on social media. Of course, we’ll just have to see what else the future holds, and what other strange interpretations of The Simpsons there are that AI can offer.
