Ti West surprised audiences with his horror film X. He then quickly followed the film up with a unique prequel titled Pearl, once again surprising audiences. Now it looks like West is preparing for another outing in the X universe with the upcoming film MaXXXine. And, as you can see below, MaXXXine has quite the cast attached.
As shared by Deadline, the new film MaXXXine has an all-star cast ready to roll. Mia Goth will once again return to portray Maxine, her character from X. It’s worth noting that Goth already returned in Pearl as the titular character, an older version of whom she played in X. But fans are no doubt eager to see where Maxine ended up after the events of the first film.
Furthermore, starring alongside Mia Goth, fans have the following cast members to look forward to:
Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon are all said to be “closing deals for roles.” Here’s what we know about the plot for the upcoming film:
“MaXXXine reverses the franchise’s trajectory through time to pick up with Maxine after the violent events of X, as the sole survivor continues her journey towards fame, setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.”
A24, Jacob Jaffke, West, Goth, Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss are all attached as producers on MaXXXine. The highly-anticipated sequel is set to head into production this month. As such, we should have additional news in the near future. For those fans who’ve been waiting to see this third follow-up in the universe containing X and Pearl – we won’t have much longer to see what happens.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further horror updates and news on MaXXXine as we have it. For now, it sounds like a killer time with the cast involved.
