Kanye “Ye” West made antisemitic statements in recent years that had him dropped by several brands. Now, however, the controversial musician is attempting to recant his statement in an interesting way. Specifically, Kanye West claims that watching 21 Jump Street made him “like Jewish people again.”
He explained it all in a new Instagram post. Apparently it was actor Jonah Hill’s involvement in 21 Jump Street that made Kanye West change his mind about his controversial statements regarding the Jewish people. As he began:
“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street made me like Jewish people again.”
He continued to discuss his feelings:
“No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people.”
“No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew.”
Finally, Kanye West concluding with the following:
“Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”

Of course, many followers of Kanye West were perplexed by the mixed statement. Especially given West’s past comments and the fact that 21 Jump Street is what apparently made West recant them. In fact, 21 Jump Street co-director Chris Miller responded via Instagram to West’s message:
“Um… thanks for watching?”
It’s clear that Miller is just as confused as most other people that have read West’s statement. Here are some of the other responses via social media to what West had shared. Many of them include memes and other jokes regarding the strange Instagram post:

Of course, there is one particular person outside of West that many of these posts revolve around – one can’t help but wonder how Jonah Hill might feel about all of this. But it’s likely as confused of an opinion as his 21 Jump Street co-director merely sharing a hesitant thank you to West.
