Fans were already surprised to see Marvel Studios bring back The Incredible Hulk actor Tim Blake Nelson as his character The Leader for Captain America: New World Order. Now it’s been revealed that another Incredible Hulk cast member will be returning. Specifically, Liv Tyler has joined the Captain America: New World Order cast as Betty Ross.
The news that Liv Tyler would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and after fifteen years, no less, was revealed via THR. They confirmed that she’ll once again play Betty Ross, the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Fans will recall that Thunderbolt Ross was previously played by late actor William Hurt. Though for New World Order, his character will now be portrayed by Harrison Ford.
Marvel Studios has been gradually bringing back characters from the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, which happened to be the second film set in the MCU. It’s obviously been a long time and many projects since that film was released. But now it looks like the characters they introduced are finally coming into play.
Plot details for the project are still being kept under wraps at this time. Nevertheless, it’s exciting to know that Liv Tyler will get to finally return as Betty Ross for Captain America: New World Order. Hopefully we’ll have other updates for the highly-anticipated project in the near future.
Captain America: New World Order is directed by Julius Onah. The screenplay was written by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman. Meanwhile, Spellman will also produce the film alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
The film stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Shira Haas as Sabra, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, and Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley. The Incredible Hulk actor Tim Blake Nelson will reprise his role as The Leader for the film.
Fans will be able to see Captain America: New World Order when it hits theaters on May 3, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
