The Friday the 13th franchise is preparing for a major comeback with the upcoming Peacock streaming series Crystal Lake. Now original Friday the 13th star Adrienne King has shared an exciting update regarding the Crystal Lake series.
It was previously announced that Adrienne King would be involved with the highly-anticipated show. She’s known by fans for having played final girl Alice in the original Friday the 13th film. Her character kills Jason’s mother during the movie’s climax, and Jason later gets revenge during the opening of Friday the 13th Part 2.
As such, her role in Crystal Lake is being kept under wraps, and it seems unlikely that she’ll be returning as Alice. But she did deliver an exciting update on Twitter featuring the writers of Crystal Lake. “My first writers meeting for CRYSTAL LAKE!!!,” she excitedly writes in the post’s caption. “NBC/Peacock, a24, Bryan Fuller! CHEERS to full circle moments in time!”

Adrienne King is currently the only cast member attached to the series. Though it was also announced that Scream writer Kevin Williamson would be writing an episode for Crystal Lake. Furthermore, Bryan Fuller of Hannibal fame will act as the project’s showrunner. So, although the series is till in the early stages of development, everything seems to be moving along nicely. Especially with the incredible talent involved so far.
It’s been confirmed that Crystal Lake will have access to elements from every film in the Friday the 13th franchise. However, as of this writing, it’s only been described as something of a prequel to the original film’s events. Hopefully we’ll have a better understanding and whether or not adult Jason Voorhees will be making an appearance soon.
Crystal Lake will premiere on the Peacock streaming service. A release date for the series has yet to be revealed. Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the Friday the 13th series Crystal Lake as we have them.
