Jamie Lee Curtis recently won her very first Oscar for her work in the film Everything Everywhere All at Once. Curtis, who won the award for Best Supporting Actress in the film, made an interesting announcement regarding her Oscar. It looks like Jamie Lee Curtis has decided to give her Oscar award “they/them” pronouns.
She revealed as much while speaking in an interview on NBC’s Today show. She began her statement while holding her award from this year’s Oscars ceremony to the camera. As she did so, she explained that her trans daughter Ruby is the reason for her decision.
As stated below:
“In support of my daughter Ruby, I’m having them be a ‘they/them,’” she began. “I’m just going to call them ‘them’, ‘they/them,’ and they are doing great.”
“They are doing great, and they’re settling in” she continued. “In my life, I never thought in a million years that I would have these couple days, and I’m very moved by the whole thing.”

It’s certainly nice to see that Jamie Lee Curtis is happy to have her first Oscar. Everything Everywhere All at Once certainly became quite the winner at this year’s awards ceremony. In fact, the film managed to earn a total of seven Oscars, including the award for Best Picture. It’s quite the accomplishment for a film from a studio like A24. And, hopefully, it means that even more unlikely winners will begin to be recognized by the Academy.
