Comedian Chris Rock has been gradually opening up about the Oscars incident with Will Smith. In fact, it was one of many topics addressed during the Netflix special Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, where Rock made numerous comments about Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Now Will Smith is reportedly “embarrassed and hurt” by the comments made in Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.
The reference to Will Smith allegedly being embarrassed comes via ET. Of course, Will Smith has been trying to move away from the Oscars incident ever since it occurred. He’s issued several apologies in the months since, but now that Chris Rock is having his chance to cope by making jokes out of the whole thing, it seems to have placed Smith back in the spotlight.
In fact, sources say that Will Smith hasn’t even watched the show. But because he’s been told what Rock stated throughout – Smith simply feels that Rock should “let it go.” Furthermore, he wants Rock to “move on” so that he and everyone else involved can as well.
Furthermore, Will Smith is also said to have stated that Netflix giving Rock his own Netflix special over the incident was “distasteful.” Though the source does shed some light on Rock’s point-of-view. It’s been stated that Selective Outrage was Chris Rock’s way of getting everything off his chest – and now he actually is ready to move on.
Here is a sample from the Netflix special:

As such, we’ll have to see how this situation develops. The special did mark the first time that Chris Rock openly spoke about the Oscars incident. So perhaps he really is eager to let it go now that he’s gotten everything out into the open. In any case, it probably won’t be the last we’ll hear about it.
