One of the most exciting crossover events for Marvel in both film and comic books has been their Avengers team-ups. Now, as you can see below, Marvel has introduced a crazy new Avengers team that features some rather surprising members.
The lineup of this new Avengers team was introduced in the final issue of Savage Avengers. The series comes from writer David Pepose and artist Carlos Magno. The Savage Avengers series is known for featuring a number of less popular superheroes in its roster. You won’t find the likes of Iron Man or Captain America here.
Rather, the Savage Avengers typically includes the likes of Elektra Natchios aka Daredevil, Cloak, Dagger, Anti-Venom, Black Knight, Weapon H, a Miles Morales Deathlok, and Conan the Barbarian. Now the group has reached the future of Marvel – the 2099 timeline – which includes an all-new roster for the team.
Now, as noted via ComicBook, Elektra looks for reinforcements in this timeline to go up against Ultron. Ultimately, she selects a group of characters from Ultron’s prison in the 2099 timeline. Now the new Avengers team includes Elektra/Daredevil, Spider-Man 2099, Ghost Rider 2099, Strange 2099, Bloodhawk, and La Lunatica. The group then manages to destroy Ultron together – finishing the final issue.
It’s a surprising team-up that goes to show how both the Marvel 2099 timeline and Avengers concept is essentially limitless. There are numerous characters to pull from and a variety of different teams to create with them. Thus it’s exciting to see such a crazy group come together – especially given how crazy the initial Savage Avengers lineup already was. One can only hope there will be room for these characters to work together for a future story.
Savage Avengers #10 comes from David Pepose, Carlos Magno, Espen Grundetjern, and VC’s Travis Lanham. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Marvel news as we have it.
