Netflix has been cancelling popular shows left and right. Some of these were even cancelled by Netflix with only one season. Now it’s been revealed that Netflix has done it again.
It’s unclear what all of the factors are that Netflix considers when cancelling or renewing a series. For example, this particular series was featured in the Netflix “Top 10” list for an entire week. Nevertheless, it seems that it still wasn’t enough for Netflix to renew the show.
Obviously fans will be disappointed by this news. But, as streaming services continue to make incomprehensible decisions, it might not be surprising. As for the series they chose to cancel – it was a vehicle starring none other than Neil Patrick Harris.
If that doesn’t give it away – the series is none other than Uncoupled. The American romantic comedy series focused on his character, Michael Lawson, who operates as a New York City real estate agent. Sadly, his character is dumped by his husband after 17 years. Now he has to enter the dating scene as a single gay man in his late 40s.
It’s certainly an interesting perspective and one that many viewers enjoyed. After all, the series did make it into Netflix’s “Top 10” list. As mentioned above, however, Netflix has a strange set of guidelines when they decide to cancel the series. And, for one reason or another, Uncoupled was cancelled by Netflix.
There were reports that the series was being shopped to a new platform. Unfortunately, no one decided to pick up the series. Now fans will be left with one single season of the show.
The main cast of Uncoupled stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tuc Watkins, Tisha Campbell, Marcia Gay Harden, Emerson Brooks, and Brooks Ashmanskas. The cast also includes André De Shields, Colin Hanlon, Jai Rodriguez, Nic Rouleau, Jasai Chase Owens, Stephanie Faracy, and Byron Jennings.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates regarding Netflix’s shows and movies as we have them. As for Uncoupled, it looks like fans will have to start looking for another series to watch.
