Actor Nicolas Cage has built up quite the portfolio over the decades. Of course, there are still plenty of characters that fans would love to see the quirky actor take on. A newly-surfaced image suggests one possibility – which is none other than Nicolas Cage as The Joker.
In the same way that Nicolas Cage has played numerous different characters, The Joker has been played by quite a few actors at this point. As such, fans have fun contemplating just which actor would make the next best Joker. And, for some, that actor is none other than Nicolas Cage.
Now as you can see below, digital artist BossLogic took the time to turn Nicolas Cage into the notorious Batman villain. In order to do so, he digitally altered an image from the upcoming film Renfield. Nicolas Cage stars in the film as Dracula while Nicholas Hoult plays none other than Renfield.
As you can see below, however, he turned Nicolas Cage from Dracula to The Joker. Likewise, Nicholas Hoult has been made into a very troubled Robin. It’s a fitting casting for the pair and one can’t help but imagine what kind of Batman would have to battle Nicolas Cage’s Joker. Perhaps that could be fan art for another time.
Here’s the image which sees Nicolas Cage become a rather disturbed-looking Joker:

In the meantime, fans can at least be glad they’ll still get to see Nicolas Cage become Dracula. After all, he’s certainly one of the most iconic villains right alongside the clown-faced maniac.
Renfield is being directed by Chris McKay. The film itself was written by Ryan Ridley based on a story outline from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. Chris McKay and Robert Kirkman are producing along with David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst. Chris McKay’s producing partner, Samantha Nisenboim, is attached as executive producer.
The cast of Renfield includes Nicholas Hoult as the titular character, Nicolas Cage as Dracula, and Awkwafina as Rebecca Quincy. The cast also features Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Bess Rouss.
Fans will be able to see Renfield in theaters on April 14, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the highly-anticipated horror comedy as we have them.
