Chucky creator Don Mancini shared a statement regarding the announcement. Excitingly enough, he promises that the third season will be the show’s “scariest season ever.” For fans hoping that Chucky would go back to his darker roots this time around – it looks like they’ll be getting their wish.
“The cast and crew of Chucky would like to thank fans and critics alike for their overwhelming response to season two, which we’re delighted to announce has now spurred the official greenlight on season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been frankly impossible to deal with. Many thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be his scariest season ever,” said Don Mancini.
As mentioned above, the second season of the series does end on a cliffhanger. There are multiple storylines now involving Chucky, his ex Tiffany, the Hackensack trio, Nica, and even GG (the newly formed persona of Glen and Glenda). It’s also possible that Andy and Kyle could make a return as well. At this rate, it’ll be exciting to see how everyone comes together for yet another round of horror and comedy.
Chucky Season 3 is expected to premiere on both USA and SYFY for Fall 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated third season as we have them.
