Fans are eager to see some of their favorite MCU heroes return for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania AKA Ant-Man 3. However, it looks like Marvel has implemented one surprising change to a familiar character in the upcoming Ant-Man sequel.
Fans will remember that actor David Dastmalchian played the role of Kurt Goreshter in the original Ant-Man film. He lived as Scott Lang’s roommate and also operated as a computer hacker. However, as shared via THR, this is where the major character change comes into play for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
As it turns out, David Dastmalchian is actually set to return for Ant-Man 3. But this time he’ll be appearing under a completely different name. It appears that, rather than being billed as Kurt, he’s being called “Veb.”
It’s currently unknown how exactly Veb will play into the plot of the film. In fact, with the Multiverse at hand, it’s possible that Veb will be a variant of Kurt. Otherwise, he could very simply just be playing a new character with no relation. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has certainly reused such actors in that way before – so it’s not exactly a stretch.
In any case, fans of Dastmalchian will be glad to know he’ll appear in the film one way or another. Hopefully we’ll have additional details soon. Of course, we’re only a month away from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hitting theaters, so it won’t take long to find out for certain.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. The confirmed cast for the film includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, and Jonathan Majors.
Fans will be able to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in theaters on February 17, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the highly-anticipated MCU blockbuster as we have them.
