The Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon expand into the Quantum Realm with the upcoming film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Now a newly-revealed synopsis for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has confirmed a major role for the upcoming sequel.
There are plenty of theories and rumors surrounding the upcoming film. After all, it does feature one of our biggest appearances from Kang the Conqueror yet. But a new synopsis, as shared via ComicBook.com, confirms a role played by none other than actor Bill Murray.
There have been no shortage of theories regarding Murray’s character. Many of them have suggested that he’s actually playing Lord Krylar from the comics. And, according to the new synopsis, we now know the answer. Here’s what the synopsis states about the film:
“Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return tocontinue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.”
This is an exciting confirmation. Lord Krylar is known from the comics for having appeared opposite Bruce Banner. Additionally, he never had any involvement with the Quantum Realm prior, so this is certainly an original take on the character. This version is said to actually be a friend of Janet van Dyne, the character played by Michelle Pfeiffer.
Now that Bill Murray’s role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been confirmed, fans have another layer to add to their discussions about the project. There are big things coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and this is only a small step for what’s next.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. The confirmed cast for the film includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, and Jonathan Majors.
